7 Questions To Finding Your True Passion

1. What puts a smile on your face?
salty: Many things. I guess I can't just answer food and all the nouns. It should be actions right? I like to eat, I do like to prepare food but I'm not sure if I can do the cooking everyday. I like to travel around but I don't know what I can relate this to. Staying overseas and travelling involve different concerns. And I can't write very well so I can't be a journalist. I like to build stuff but I don't know what I can relate it to as well. Definitely not a construction worker, or else, I won't be studying so hard. And I don't mean anything about working as a construction worker. They are noble as well. Risking their lives, bearing the heat, rain, pain and dirt to build houses, buildings and structures for us. I'm afraid of heights anyway, though I like to try high-level extreme activities. That's once in a while, not everyday. I like to look at art and design but I don't think I have the creativity and talent enough. As for interior design, I really like but not sure about doing it. I like to look at photos but at this point in time, I don't have any photography skills as well. What kind of photos you may ask, I like photos of nature, wedding, people, life and celebrations. I like exploring but again, I don't know what I can relate it to. I've thought of being a wedding planner, events planner and open a bakery. These can make me smile. I like to observe, analyse and investigate. I've thought of being a CID, PI and forensic scientist too. I even thought of being astronauts being I like and I wish to go to outerspace! I know I'm not good at sports. Another thing not to forget is whatever I'm doing now in my attachment. I do like it but I should conclude how I feel about it after the entire attachment. I think it's still early to conclude. Hmm what else is there that I have not considered?

2. What do you find easy?
salty: Seriously, I've no idea! This is the key point. I want to know the answer and the fastest way to find this answer! Maybe I would say it's easy to observe, if that counts! I wanted to say it's easy to analyse and investigate but my question is, how do we tell or gauge whether one is good at analysing and investigating?

3. What sparks your creativity?
salty: This is a tough question. I need to observe myself more before I can answer this.

(I shall stop here for today. Meanwhile, you can ask these questions to yourself as well or tell me if you think you have my answers to any of these questions. I may not have realised it myself sometimes. So it's good to hear from others. Thanks! :))

4. What would you do for free?
salty:

5. What do you like to talk about?
salty:

6. What makes you unafraid of failure?
salty:

7. What would you regret not having tried?
salty:

career. job. work.

Don't talk about the definitions in dictionary or books or whatsoever. Instead, tell me what it really means to you. For me, I prefer not to regard my job as work. I want to regard it as something that I want to do in life. Something that keeps me going, something that interests me, makes me smile, and makes me feel happy doing it, thinking about it and spending time on it. Like a hobby. If a job is just work and there's nothing else more to it, I will start thinking about work-life balance. Then I'll start to put less heart at work and constantly thinking about play. And that's not what I want. I want my work to be play. I don't mean being not serious but having fun. I want my work to be part of my happy life. So there will be no such thing as overtime work!

"What's work? I'm not working. I'm doing something that I want to do in life and something that I love."

Let's pause. Whatever I'm saying, is this possible? Does it really make sense? Or am I just dreaming about it? Am I thinking of everything too perfect? I know that I don't think big, but I think of too perfect things. I just want to do what I enjoy doing, so I can even do it non-stop without whining. So I can be willing to do it even on weekends, without whining. And I won't waste my time.

In this way, having fun has two categories. One is with money flowing in while another is with money flowing out. The former is so-called work and the latter is so-called play or life or whatsoever. 'Work' is the way to earn money. Definitely, this is a fact we cannot deny. My questions are what do I want to do and whatever I want to do, can it allow me to fulfill my adventure dreams? How should I go about achieving my dreams?

Passion Fruit #1 - Laugh at myself

Mr Edmund Ho has successfully integrated his interest in photography into his career by providing photography services, and he shoot what he loves - food and people. After watching him on TV, I began thinking again what is my true passion.
A passion that can make me smile all the time.
A passion that can turn my failures into motivation.
A passion that can drive me to give in my all.
In other words, something that I have undying love for.
And to turn it into a career, it has to be something that would work out for me.
Something that eventually I can excel in.

Now, my question is, "Should I start finding my deepest passion now or after I graduate?" Maybe people would say the earlier the better. I see no harm in this except I'm afraid I will keep thinking about this issue now and then, and end up having insufficient time to study. However, since I've started this, I shall slowly figure it out for I know finding my passion cannot be not done in one minute. Time is indeed important so while finding, I cannot lose focus in studies.

My problem lies with me liking too many things. My true passion may be one of it but it may also be something that I am not exposed to yet. No matter what, I have to be true to myself, look at my abilities and resources, and sort it out.

Anyway, one thing that I want to do now is:

Laugh at myself for being over ambitious and hence being confused and lost.
HAHAHA.

But this is going to start the ball rolling :)
